Unison stores your account and content to provide a social feed, messaging, calling, saved collections and payment requests. This notice describes the current beta.

Account and content

Firebase Authentication handles sign-in. Unison stores your profile, posts, media, saved content, settings, conversations and activity such as follows and reactions in Google Firebase and Cloud Storage. Public posts and their media may be viewed and shared outside your account. A private account limits the feed shown by Unison, but cannot retract content someone already downloaded.

Messages and calls

Conversation access is restricted to members. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Shared deletion timers remove messages from the active conversation view; copies held by recipients cannot be recalled. Agora provides voice and video transport. Camera and microphone access is requested only when you choose to record, call, or enable incoming calls. iPhone calls use Apple's CallKit interface; video capture pauses when Unison enters the background.

Notifications

Notifications and incoming calls are separate opt-ins in Unison Settings. When enabled, Unison stores Apple push tokens, an installation identifier, your account identifier, app version and notification preferences in Firebase to deliver alerts through Apple's push service. Message and activity previews do not contain private message text. Incoming call alerts can show the caller's name. Signing out unregisters the device; account deletion removes its saved registration. You can disable alerts or incoming calls in Unison Settings and manage system notification permissions in iPhone Settings.

Payments

Stripe handles payout onboarding and payment processing when enabled. Unison keeps payment requests, provider identifiers, amounts and payment status. Card details are entered with Stripe, not stored by Unison. Some financial records may be retained for legal, fraud prevention or accounting purposes after account deletion. Crypto quotes are informational; they are not a crypto wallet or execution service.

Safety and technical data

Unison processes reports, account identifiers, timestamps and limited technical logs to prevent abuse and troubleshoot requests. Local device storage keeps sign-in state, preferences and drafts. Session cookies support authenticated conversations and private media.

Advertising beta

The iPhone beta includes optional Google AdMob test ads. No ad is requested until you enable beta test ads and the Google User Messaging Platform confirms any required privacy choices. Google may process IP address, device and app information, diagnostics and ad interactions to deliver and protect its advertising services. Unison requests non-personalized test ads, does not request tracking permission, and does not send your profile, private messages, source subscriptions, email or phone to AdMob. Test ads do not generate earnings or cash rewards. Live ads require separate provider approval and release verification. Viewing or clicking ads does not earn money or improve revenue-program eligibility.

Account verification and reviews

If you choose phone verification, Google Firebase processes your phone number and verification SMS. Your number is not public. Email verification uses your sign-in email. A revenue eligibility review creates a private support request visible to you and authorized Unison reviewers; do not upload identity documents or bank details there. Secure payout details are entered directly with Stripe.

Your choices

Contribution review stores your submitted public links, original-post references, normalized content fingerprints, timestamps, decisions and review reasons. Authorized reviewers check rights, quality, duplication and account eligibility. A source submission or reviewed unit is not money. The private accounting ledger records provider payment references and independent reconciliation decisions, not bank account numbers. Contribution records are included in account export and queued deletion; necessary accounting and security audit records may be retained separately. Ad views and clicks are not used to award contribution units.

Use Settings to export your account data or request account deletion. Deletion immediately hides your account and queues removal of your posts, uploaded media, messages and saved settings. Processing may take time; backups and records subject to legal retention are not erased instantly. You may also block people and report individual posts.
